35 Websites that use transparency effectively

Everywhere we go we see transparent objects. So why not implement transparency in web design? If you’ve just made the best background ever but have to cover it all up with content, then why not make that content slightly transparent? Transparency is great for adding depth to a website. The more transparent an area is, the more it seems closer to the area behind it. This can be used to a web designer’s advantage.

Well it’s fairly easy to implement, query most commented posts, get total comments for top 5, determine width of each using total comment number
I can do a tutorial on it if you wish although I may have to tidy it up a bit first ;P hehe
All I say is wow, those are REALLY great looking websites. I wish more websites accross the globe would go to this type of level in quality when it comes to web design.
