This weeks creative design is brought to you by Osvaldas Valutis, a twenty year old front end web designer. His talent can be easily seen in this design. The use of open/empty space, slight textures and great little graphics, Osvaldas provides readers with an enjoyable experience browsing the site.

The main page is very simplistic, with a nice graphic and two links in the middle. The radial gradient on the textured background centers the focus point and your eyes freely view the wonderful texture and the attractive little butterfly. The images either side detailing that he his available for work and currently working on new projects, have a risk of looking tacky, but he has managed to pull it of brilliantly.

When you click either the about or work link a beautiful vertical transition hides the homepage whilst revealing the about or work page. He continues to use his hand written notes to supply info on various parts of the site, as well as huge empty space and gradients. The grassy graphics are continued here in the header and footer.

The typeface he has used is perfect for the design, and the combination of grays and greens works great together. I think we can really learn a lot from Osvaldas’s design as there is no need to over complicate or clutter your webpage. I believe with huge amounts of space, the reader feels as if he has more time to browse the site, and with the slick javascript fades, browsing is made effortless.
A stunning site Osvaldas, one of my personal favorites!
