Almost every new movie that comes out has an official website. Today we’ll be showcasing 50 of the best ones. You’ll notice that most (if not all) of them are Flash sites. While Flash may not be suitable for many types of websites I think it’s almost necessary for movie sites. Visitors need to feel like the website is an extension to the movie in some way, and Flash helps create this ‘experience’ – heavy animations and movie trailers are all the rage these days I guess. ![]()
I hope you enjoy this post! Please let me know which ones are your favorites in the comment section – mine is definitely Pan’s Labyrinth. Of course feel free to add other movie sites to the list!

This is really very nice collection
Great collection. Thank you so much!!!
Nice Collection! Thx
hehe I like 21 and District 9
yes they’re mostly, if not all, flash websites.
i don’t understand why would they do that.
The D9 site is fantastic – really is an extension of the movie and gets you involved.
The first on your list , Jennifers Body is just a video clip of the movies trailer and nothing else – not sure why it would be on this list of best.
@Grace maybe cuz Megan Fox
.. nice collection though
nice one! i love this article! i think i jizzed
I’ve always found it an odd occurance that film websites are always done in flash. I guess it’s all about the experience of moving objects etc but I rarely see any built to web standards.
This is a great list of how to do it well though, even if some of those films are a bit on the awful side.
Intresting, this was actually a very great read! thanks

I love transformers! my all time favourite!
Great list, thanks for sharing. I have to agree w/ AtiKuSDesign, flash seems to be a staple practice amongst movie sites and it has been for … a while. And it’s true they don’t follow the guidelines for web standards, pretty much the genre seems to disregard them intentionally or not to be concerned with them at all. Still, you have to admit, these are very impressive works for that ‘niche’ if you could call it one. And they may not be designed with web standards, the flash is usually top notch.
Thanks for sharing this. Have a swell day.
What a great list of awesome movie websites. I expected to see the Zombieland website among these sites. But oh well. Great Stumbled Site!
Thanks for all your comments people
Another vote for the website of Transformers – The Rise of the Fallen and Pan’s Labyrinth!!! But I really love the website of Transformer.
Whats? your criteria? some are just a trailer on a holding page something an intern with the poster art files could knock up – bit left field but thought : http://www.creationthemovie.com
i wont to see alvin and the chipmunks 2
Corpse Bride is awesome too!

These are all great and creative sites, but I kind of prefer more simple ones.
